Depression Counseling for Women
“Women are twice as likely as men to experience depression, and they are more prone to experience pronounced symptoms such as sadness, guilt, and worthlessness.” – Judy Woodruff.
I believe in providing a safe and non-judgmental space where both the mother and daughter can discuss their experiences and feelings.
It is crucial to validate their experiences and help them understand that their depression is a normal response to trauma. My goal is to help identify negative thoughts and beliefs that may be contributing to their depression and challenge them using evidence-based techniques and theraputic approaches.
Exploring and learning new coping skills to manage symptoms of depression, such as mindfulness, relaxation techniques, and positive self-talk can be an invaluable tool for suceess and happiness in life.
While internal communication is the basis for a healthy relationship, both the mother and daughter to should seek to develop a support system, such as a network of friends, family, or a support group.
My Mission
As a therapist, I aim to help my clients realize their full potential. Many of us have experienced trauma in our past years that continue to impact our daily living. Perhaps if we talked more openly about issues that impact our daily lives, the stigmas will decrease.
